Dr. Apostolos Christopoulos

Professor

Apostolos G. Christopoulos is a Professor of Economics and Finance in the Department of Business Administration at the University of the Aegean and, since 2024, has also served as Chair of the same Department. He is also the Director of the “Research and Education Laboratory of Finance, Banking and Logistics – Fi.Ba.Lab,” while for the past twenty years he has taught as a visiting lecturer at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, the National Technical University of Athens, and the Hellenic Open University. He holds a PhD in Economics from the Department of Economics of the University of Athens and is a graduate of the Executive MSc in Banking and Finance from the Athens University of Economics and Business, as well as the MA in Communications Policy Studies from City University of London.

His main research interests lie in the fields of Finance and Banking, Risk Management, Failure Prediction, and Sustainable Development. His work has been published, among others, in journals such as the European Journal of Operational Research, Annals of Operations Research, Journal of the Operational Research Society, Research in International Business and Finance, International Journal of Banking, Accounting and Finance, The Economics of Transition, Multinational Finance Journal, Operational Research: An International Journal, EuroMed Journal of Business, etc., and he also serves as a reviewer for leading academic journals.

Professor Christopoulos is Co-Editor-in-Chief of the scientific journal International Journal of Corporate Finance and Accounting (IJCFA) and Deputy Director of the Executive MBA postgraduate program of the University of the Aegean. For the past twenty years, he has served as Chair of the Scientific Committee of the Hellenic Association of Certified Stockmarket Analysts (HACSA). Finally, Professor Christopoulos has significant professional experience in issues of market liberalization and regulation, having served for nearly 30 years as an executive at the Hellenic Telecommunications and Post Commission (EETT), the Regulatory Authority for Energy (RAE), and the National Council for Radio and Television (ESR).

Dr. Ioannis Kinias is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Business Administration at the University of the Aegean and a Scientific Associate of the postgraduate programs “Business Administration – MBA” and “Executive MBA.”

He is a Mechanical Engineer graduate of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and holds an MSc in Engineering Management from Brunel University (UK), as well as a PhD in Business Strategy from the Department of Business Administration of the University of the Aegean. He has also conducted postdoctoral research in Business Strategy in the Department of Business Administration of the University of the Aegean as a scholarship holder of the Hellenic State Scholarships Foundation (IKY).

He has taught at the undergraduate level in the Department of Regional Economic Development of the University of Central Greece as a Scientific Associate, as well as at the Training Institute of the National Centre for Public Administration as a certified instructor.

His studies and articles have been published in international scientific journals and presented at international conferences. His academic interests include Strategic Management, Entrepreneurship, Energy Policy, and Family Business Management.
