Dr. Ioulia Poulaki

Associate Professor

Ioulia Poulaki is an Assistant Professor with the academic specialization “Management of Tourism Enterprises” in the Department of Business Administration at the University of the Aegean. In addition, she is a member of the Adjunct Teaching Staff of the Hellenic Open University in the undergraduate program “Tourism Management.” She collaborates in research with the Development Studies and Research Laboratory (DeRes Lab) of the Department of Business Administration at the University of the Aegean. From 2019 to 2022, she held a faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor, with the specialization “Management of Tourism Enterprises with an emphasis on the Organization and Operation of Travel Industry Enterprises,” in the Department of Tourism Management at the University of Patras. In parallel, she served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Company for the Utilization and Management of the Property of the University of Patras.

She holds a PhD from the Department of Business Administration of the University of the Aegean, with a dissertation in Air Transport Management and Tourism Development, and a Master’s degree in Tourism Planning, Management and Policy from the University of the Aegean. Her undergraduate studies include a degree in Foreign Languages, Translation and Interpreting from the Ionian University and a degree in Structural Engineering from the Piraeus Technological Educational Institute.

She is the author of one book and numerous articles published in reputable international scientific journals, edited academic volumes, and the proceedings of internationally recognized scientific conferences. She is a member of international scientific associations in the fields of tourism and air transport and participates in editorial and advisory boards of reputable international academic journals and conferences.

Finally, she has ten years of professional experience in the air transport sector, both in the commercial departments of airlines and in the operational departments of airports, with high-level expertise in revenue management and distribution systems.
