Dr. Georgios Drogalas is an Associate Professor (Official Gazette: Accounting) in the Department of Business Administration at the University of Macedonia. He is a graduate of the Department of Business Administration of the University of Macedonia and holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in Accounting and Auditing from the University of the Aegean, as well as a PhD in Accounting and Auditing from the University of Macedonia. He has worked as an accountant and in the management of an Internal Audit Department. Currently, alongside his position at the University of Macedonia, he teaches at the undergraduate level at the Open University of Cyprus and in a Joint Master’s Program of the Hellenic Open University in collaboration with the University of Nicosia.
Within the framework of his research activity, he participates in research projects of the University of Macedonia, and his articles have been published in reputable international scientific journals and the proceedings of international conferences. His research interests include auditing, internal auditing, cost accounting, international accounting standards, and, more broadly, topics related to the field of Accounting.
In this context, his research work has received more than 2,000 citations (source: Google Scholar). At the same time, he serves as a reviewer for reputable scientific journals. Finally, Mr. Georgios Drogalas is included in the Register of Internal Auditors of the Ministry of Finance for non-listed public enterprises, is a full member of both the Hellenic and the International Institute of Internal Auditors, and is a Certified Internal Controls Auditor (CICA).
